yesterday was fun. i felt very accomplished.
i made a roast in my crock pot with potatoes, carrots, onions, celery and 3 whole cloves of garlic. the garlic ended up just falling apart after 6 hours in the post it tasted so sweet like roasted garlic YUM!
after getting everything in the pot i cleaned up the kitchen then got the boy on the bus and the princess into the bath then it was field day at the boy's school. mom came with and then we took the kids to ritas.
ran the kids outside for a bit then went in vaccumed the great room and started a poundcake and strawberries for dessert. i sauted mushrooms with garlic and shallots and served that as a side for the roast then made a merlot sauce out of the same pan with the broth from the roast. i screwed up the roux a little so i ended up having to strain it before i could serve it but the sauce was fine. we ate outside on our patio set and i can't wait for it to be good weather for firing up the chimnea.
after dinner mom and i cleaned up and she and i got to sit and talk for a long while, it was nice. we'd shared a bottle of my uncle's red wine so we were both in a giggly mood and we just chilled. i LOVE that part of her being my next door neighbor that she can stay late and we can chat and laugh and drink wine or beer and she's got 50 feet to go back home.
it was a good day all around. that is all
Don't Come Crying to Me
okay so a couple of things.
first i ignore rules of grammar, spelling, capitalization and punctuation, usually, so don't waste your precious time by pointing these things out. "Why yes, I do realize that blogger has a spell check. I didn't use it because it's friggin boring."
second i do try not to get serious or babble on about deep issues, though occasionally i will.
third if you can pick out the theme to all of my post titles you will maybe get a cookie or a nonsarcastic "way to go skippy" at the very least.
lastly, thanks for coming, who are you and why are you reading this? you must be bored.
