today the boy asked me who lindsay lohan was and what was happening to her when MM and i were discussing her latest media attention. i told him that she was a very beautiful young actress who is very ill and can't seem to get better or find anyone to help her get better. he immediately said "i will save her. i will tell her that i love her and give her a hug and help her get better."
seriously, awwwwww. he's 7. SEVEN and an energetic sometimes misbehaving 7 at that (don't get me started about his seizure of excitement on the floor of target today because he saw a school friend) but he holds so much empathy and compassion in that tiny frame than 10 people hold in their whole bodies. i am so proud of my little devil no matter how much he tests me.
i am working on starting some kind of grassroots push on better visibility of suicide prevention groups. it means i have to recenter my own views and verbage, because i am the first person to make "emo" jokes and it's just not funny. I have to change myself before i change the world. thank goddess i listen to my own advice... sometimes...
anyway working on ideas, brainstorming with some others that want to be involved and i will need your help dear readers with whatever i come up with to help spread the word.
moms have been given a divine edict to save the world, so let's do this that's all.
